Communication services quality

Kyivstar network and coverage are among the best in Eastern Europe. We continue working on improvement of communication and coverage quality indicators every day.

Every year we are expanding Kyivstar network. On December 2009, the network includes 12 500 base stations across the country.

We constantly improve the network coverage. Since 1997 through 2008 total amount of investments in Kyivstar network coverage development consists more than $3 billion.

We track how users of mobile services assess the coverage and connection quality. Thus, 55% of all Ukrainian mobile communication subscribers determine Kyivstar’s coverage as the widest in the country. Kyivstar’s communication services has the highest quality, it is marked by 57% of all Ukrainian mobile communication subscribers (according to a CATI Mobile Index study1). These are the best indicators among the Ukrainian mobile operators.

We work with the most reliable worldwide suppliers of telecommunication equipment. Swedish company Ericsson is our constant partner in building and configuring network.

Kyivstar is the participant of international audit of key productivity indicators among mobile networks, built on Ericsson equipment. According to the measurements Kyivstar network is in 25% of the best networks in the world by the following indicators:

  • The average share of conversations with Bad Speech Quality consists less than 1% over the whole network
  • less than one time for 300 calls Kyivstar customers face the call break
  • the average speed of data transfer in download mode using EDGE technology is about 120 Kb per second

Our service quality

Kyivstar subscribers receive clients services on the highest level. Each customer can choose the convenient way of getting professional advice from company’s specialist.

We are expanding our customer service network. There are more than 195 such centers all over Ukraine, where over 7 500 customers address every day. The number of infostands located in service centers is more than 160.

More than 1 000 000 company customers use self-service system My Kyivstar/My DJUICE.

We serve clients using resources of 3 own call-centers situated in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Lviv.

Under the Kyivstar service quality evaluation programm during 2009, nearly 320 000 company customers assessed the experts work and made the average score 4.54 points («very good») from «5» maximum possible points.
