SMS

Before sending an SMS for the first time you have to set up your mobile telephone. In order to do this you have to go to the menu «Messages» and do the following:

• to set up a service center number
  • +380672020000 — for contract subscribers
  • +380672021111 — for prepaid service subscribers
• to set up the message format — text or Plain text

These settings are implemented once and are saved on the SIM-card.

To send message you have to find the «Messages» menu and sub-menu «Send message». In this sub-menu type your text and press the «Send» button. Your telephone will ask you the subscriber’s number to whom you are sending this message. This number should be indicated in the international format:

+ country code, operator’s code, telephone number

All possible operations with text messages (editing, sending, deleting, etc) are described in your mobile telephone manual.

On sending e-mail messages from your PC, you have to write the number through «8 067» in the international format:

• 38067xxxxxxx@sms.kyivstar.net — for contract subscribers,
• 38067xxxxxxx@2sms.kyivstar.net — for prepaid subscribers.

The size of e-mail message should not exceed 160 symbols.

Note 1: Writing a message you can use Latin letters, numbers and punctuation marks only.

Note 2: Before sending a message, determine the mode «Plain Text».

In order to send an e-mail from the handset you have to:

• Write a short message of the following contents: address@domain [space] (subject of the message (non-obligatory to indicate)) [space] text of the message.
  • Example: name@(domen name).com.ua (Meeting) Let’s meet at 18—00. OK?
    
  • Example without indication of the subject: name@(domen name).com.ua Let’s meet at 18—00. OK?
• Choose option: «Send».
• On appearance of the question: «To what number?» dial 555 (for contract subscribers and prepaid subscribers) and send the message.

With the aim to protect subscribers of Kyivstar and prevent receiving of mass advertising messages, possibility to receive any text messages from the addresses of e-mail will be blocked.

Kyivstar subscribers are able to unblock and block the function of receiving SMS from e-mail. For this you need to send empty SMS to a short number:

• To unblock — 7021
• To block — 7020
• To check the service’s status — 7022

When using international roaming service the number of short message center does not change.

Incoming messages in the foreign operator’s network for the contract subscribers (roaming) — are free of charge.
