PC settings

1. Connect phone with computer:

Connection via data cable: connect cable to phone and to computer;
Connection via IR-port — activate IR-port on mobile phone: find «IR-port» menu — choose «Turn on» (Nokia IR-port is activated automatically while you get to menu «IR-port») and on computer
The computer will install mobile phone as modem.
Set remote connection — the program which via preinstalled modem will dial Internet access number and will establish connection with the remote computer. Make next steps:

On Windows XP example:

Go in: «Start» > «Programs» > «Standard» > «Connection» > «Network connection».
Select «Create new connection»
Follow «New connection master»:
Select «Connect to Internet»;
Select «Establish connection»;
Select «Using usual modem»;
Enter «Connection Name»: you can choose any, for example, «Kyivstar Internet»;
Enter a phone number for Internet connection:
For GSM-connection: +380672222901.
For GPRS: *99***1#:
Go «Start» menu and select «Control panel»;
Select «Phone and modem»;
Select «Modem»;
Select modem «Properties»;
Select «Additional connection parameters»
Enter initialization line: AT+CGDCONT=1, «IP», «www.kyivstar.net»
Enter login and password.
For GSM base technology:
«Login»: internet;
«Password»: kyivstar.
For GPRS technology:
"Login «: igprs;
«Password»: internet.
Press «Next». As a result new connection will be created «Kyivstar Internet».
Start «Kyivstar Internet» connection, which shortcut will be placed on desktop.
Select «Properties».
In «General» section select connection modem.
In «Network» section select TCP-IP properties, then go to «Additional» and on «General» turn off «IP-headers compression». It is necessary to switch on «Use main gateway».

2. Mail client settings:

For example we shall set up Outlook Express, however you can use any convenient mail client.
If Outlook Express is installed on computer, it is necessary press «Start» button and installed program list select Outlook Express.
If program is not installed, it is necessary to install it from operational system disk.
After running Outlook Express for the first time «Internet connection master» will be started. Following instructions, it is possible to make all necessary settings:
enter name which will be displayed in a «Sent» field for all sent messages, then press «Next» button;
enter e-mail address, where all messages addressed to the user will be sent, for example, ivanov@starport.com.ua;
select incoming messages server: POP3 or IMAP;
enter incoming messages server address: data supplied by mail service provider (for example, mail.starport.com.ua).
enter outgoing messages server address: relay.kyivstar.net;
press «Next»;
enter account: it is necessary to specify login for connection to a mail box (for example, ivanov);
enter password: it is necessary to specify user password for connection to a mail box, password will be displayed by symbols ***.
you can choose «Remember password» (in order not to enter password each time);
if the email service provider demands to use safe check of password, it is necessary to choose corresponding function;
press Button «Finish».

Now you can work with email as usual. Thus, thanking «KYIVSTAR» you can use all of Internet opportunities — at office, on road or at business meeting!
